How and to What Extent Does Application Behaviour Influence Senior Managers

Traditionally it is considered to be that the higher position provokes a person to use it in his/her personal interests. These considerations are applied practically in all spheres of life, including politics, business, social structure etc.
In such a situation senior manager are referred to as a group in which the risk to use the higher position is quite probable. In actuality it is often the subject of numerous discussions and arguments whether senior managers take personal advantage out of applied theories and their position or not.
However, such statement is a bit incorrect since as a rule senior managers take advantage out of applied theory and their position it is simply the degree that differs. What is meant here is the fact that practically all senior managers willingly or not tend to use their position in their own interests but what make them really different at this respect is how often or how significant is the personal advantage of a senior manager taken out of his/her position and applied theories.
Obviously the better the manager is the less significant his advantage will be, or at least personal interests of a senior manager should correspond to the interests of the organization where he/she works. As a rule, the developed countries are characterized by a high degree of effectiveness of management, particularly in the top level. Mainly it is the result of the professional attitude of senior managers to their work that is traditional for companies and different institutions operating in developed countries. The basis of this professionalism is the priority of company’s success over personal position of a manager, which implies that the manager puts the interests of the company on the first place while his personal advantage is secondary or even insignificant at all. In the same time, the senior managers are often integrated into a company to the extent that the company’s success means their personal success and advantage.
For instance, they may possess a certain share of the company’s stocks that makes it useless to use their position to get some profit regardless the general situation in the company. In the same time they are interested in the positive image of the company, since it is a vitally important component of the market success of the company and naturally to have a positive image means not to use personal advantages of senior managers’ position since they are the leaders of the company.
In the same time quite a different situation is observed in developing countries where personal advantages are of a primary importance for all members of the society and the higher the position is the higher advantages a person can take out of his/her position. As a result, the companies and social institutions, as well as state ones, are highly corrupted and senior managers seems to be on the top of the corruption pyramid and exploit their position in their own interests, sometimes making their employees victims of their personal interests as a result corruption, including bribes, harassments, and other negative phenomena are quite common for senior managers working in developing countries.
Thus, in conclusion it is possible to say that the more developed is the country and the more prestigious is the organization senior managers work in the less common are the use of applied theories and their position to take some personal advantage of it, in order to provide the company with a positive image and have good career perspectives and vice versa.
